Loan Modification

What is loss mitigation, and does every mortgage company have one? I am with Citimortgage and 3 months behind. People have told me to contact loss mitigation. Can I call Citimortgage and have them connect me directly to them? Can they set up payment options or are they going to demand all payments now?
