I just sent a Loss Mitigation work plan… my mortgage is 5 months past due… I have been making partial payments for the last three weeks to get it current but they keep sending them back to me because they want the full amount… why are they doing this? what are the chances of getting this mitigation work plan approved? how does it work?

i hate to say this, but you are blowing into the wind trying to work with wamu. they will not work with you, they will not make repayment plans that are reasonable and they will not accept payments that aren’t what they say you owe. also watch out for the attorneys they will use to come after you with foreclosure notices. they are just as unresponsive, rude and unethical as wamu. i just had to file a chapter 13 to keep from losing my home of 20 years because wamu paid property taxes that were not due when paid and that were not set up as part of my mortgage, then charged me late fees, penalties and interest on the “negative escrow balance” and refused payments because i didn;t include all their demanded fees in the payments. they also “lost” payments, credited on time payments after the late pay date, tried to force place insurance and charge me for it when i had insurance, it was an 18 month nightmare. now they have no choice but to deal with the court system and trustee. wamu ruined my credit before i filed the chapter 13, (they even put in my credit report a month before the sale date that i had signed a deed in lieu, which i had NOT) so this is the only way i had to keep my house. would you believe their “representative” went ahead and sold my house at sheriffs auction after i filed the chapter 13!!!!! the sale is set aside, was done illegally and we are now pursuing legal action against wamu et al… good luck!
